Rain Gutters in Time for Spring

So the week before last was rather warm and the snow on my roof began to melt. Last spring when this happened, it began to rain shortly thereafter and all spring and summer last year, I had to duck under the awning (not really sure what that lip below the roof is called) in order to avoid the drips from the roof. So I figured, wouldn't it be great if they made some sort of drainage system to prevent this? Well it turns out they do! And that "system" is called a "rain gutter"! Insane. So I went to the boxed home store and was quickly overwhelmed by the variety of styles available. So I thought that I'd put it in the list but not really expect to do it anytime soon. So I suffered all last spring and summer with it dripping on me from time to time but I dealt with it...
Until, that is, the late winter thaw that popped up last week. So I went back to the store and saw that those parts were actually quite cheap and that I could put together a really simple gutter with one closed end and one open end for very little money. So I bought it all - two 10-ft gutters, 8 brackets, one pair of end caps (in order to put together a gutter for he back door), and 12 stainless steel screws for about $30. My nearby neighbor Mark came over and we put it up in about a Half hour. And of course, since then it's been nothing but freezing cold and the roof is no longer melting. But it will be awesome when spring finally comes.
